Bioeconomy & Environment Policy

The bioeconomy depends on well managed biological resources and healthy ecosystems.

A sustainable bioeconomy requires better understanding and measuring its environmental impacts in order to

  • attenuate pressures on the environment,
  • value and protect biodiversity and
  • enhance the full range of ecosystem services.

Actions to be taken include natural capital accounting and mapping and evaluation of ecosystems and their services.
