Javier SANCHEZ LOPEZ

Currently working at the JRC as a research consultant in the Bio-economy Unit. Performing knowledge management activities within the coordination team of the Knowledge Centre for Bioeconomy, more specifically with the role of ´knowledge broker´, i.e. collecting, collating, synthesising and communicating scientific evidence for policymaking.



Bachelor’s degree on Environmental Science at Alcalá de Henares University and a PhD on Agronomy of biomass crops at the College of Agricultural Engineering, Technical University of Madrid. MSc. on Climate hazards and Environmental Impact Assessment at the State Meteorological Agency of Spain and Complutense University of Madrid.



I have more than ten years of experience on research on the sustainable production of biomass, the environmental and economic analysis of bioenergy and bio-based value chains, the optimization of biomass logistics and the monitoring of the bioeconomy. I worked in a consultancy SME involved in European research projects on the analysis of the environmental performance of bio-based products for the private sector.



Some experience as a lecturer in university studies, e.g. the College of Agricultural Engineering (Technical University of Madrid) and in the MSc. Renewable Energies, Hydrogen and Fuel Cells from the International University Menendez Pelayo (UIMP) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).



Perfectly adapted to team work, multicultural environments and eager to learn innovative concepts, methodologies and get new capabilities.
