Supporting policy with scientific evidence

David Budtz Pedersen is professor of science communication and impact studies at the Humanomics Research Centre, Department of Communication and Psychology, Aalborg University (DK). He is the author of several policy reports and academic contributions on evaluation of science and technology and has organised various events and conferences on science advice to governments. He was Chair of the EU COST Network on Science Communication (2020-2022). Lately, Prof. Pedersen was appointed Knowledge Broker on Algorithms, Data and Democracy by a coalition of European funding agencies. He is the lead author of the EU JRC report “Evaluation Framework for Institutional Capacity of Science for Policy Ecosystems In EU Member States” (2023) and the DFIR / JRC report "The Danish Eco-System of Science for Policy" (2021). He serves as an active member of the International Network of Governmental Science Advice (INGSA).
