From Warning to Action: Bridging Aid Gaps to Protect the Most Vulnerable

The 2025 Global Report on Food Crisis presents a stark picture of rising hunger and malnutrition in the world’s most vulnerable contexts. Despite global commitments to end hunger, millions of people continue to face mounting barriers to accessing nutritious food and essential, life-saving services. This high-level event brings together leading experts and institutions to unpack the key findings of the report and reflect on their implications for programming, funding, and policy. With international aid budgets under increasing strain, the event will highlight the human cost of reduced investment—particularly in terms of acute malnutrition, under-five and maternal mortality—and map the evolving financial landscape across countries most affected by food and nutrition crises. The discussion will also take stock of prioritization and gaps in response strategies, from treatment and prevention programmes to early warning systems and data collection. Through targeted presentations and a forward-looking synthesis, the event aims to inform coordinated action to prevent further deterioration and ensure no one is left behind. By linking evidence to impact, and data to decision-making, the session will underscore the urgency of protecting critical food and nutrition interventions at a time of growing global need.
