Where: Online
Description:
The ATI (Advanced Technology for Industry) is a project conducted by a consortium of partners, including Technopolis Group, for DG GROW and which consists notably in monitoring and analysing the deployment of advanced technologies within the EU industrial base.
In this context, the composite aims at providing a comparative overview how countries perform in the key dimensions of advanced technologies for industry based on indicators that are of common interest for Member States.
It is composed of a system of composites (not one single index), composed of 30 indicators distributed among pillars. Composites have been calculated per pillar of the conceptual framework for all advanced technologies (AT), and per Advanced Technology when possible given the data availability.
The objective has not been to create an ATI index and the emphasis remains on the individual indicators. The composites have been added for communication purposes reducing the number of indicators and as entry point to the complete indicator list.

Societal impact:
The ATI project provides tools and services to support policy-makers and industry monitoring the deployment of advanced technologies at various levels through:
- Statistics and key indicators capturing industrial modernisation and the generation and uptake of advanced technologies,
- Policy dashboard with reliable, regularly updated and comprehensive information and data,
- Analytical reports such as for instance on advanced technological trends in specific countries and sectors,
- Analysis of strategic industrial value chains,
- Access to technology centres and innovation hubs across EU countries,
- Mapping of city ecosystems.
The ATI composite is key to accomplish the two first bullet points.
