Michaela Brchnelova

PhD researcher

A PhD researcher in plasma physics at KU Leuven, concerned about academic environment and research integrity.

I am a graduate of aerospace engineering from TU Delft, currently working towards my PhD in plasma physics (aerospace & solar physics applications) at the Centre for Mathematical Plasma Astrophysics, Department of Mathematics at KU Leuven.

Apart from my research field (plasma & solar physics, aerodynamics), I am interested in policy making with the aim to improve research environment and academic culture. I will be very happy to be the voice of early career researchers in the discussion - especially that of female researchers in STEM.

In the past, I have been a part of the EUWomen4Future campaign and talked at the EU R&I days 2021 on the topic of diversity and equality in academia. I am a holder of the Amelia Earhart Excellence scholarship of 2020.
