Graduated in law (University of Rome 'La Sapienza'); Master in Public Administration (University of Viterbo); PhD in Public Law (University of Salento, NYU, SciencesPo); LLM in European Public Law (National & Kapodistrian University of Athens); Post-doc in social sciences (University of Coimbra).
I grew up professionally at the intersection between policy-analysis, legal drafting, communication and academic research (on public law, digital/open-gov, EU affairs, democratic engagement and lobbying).
I have an in-depth knowledge of international and national policy-making/institutional settings.
From 2014-2020 I worked as Policy Analyst at the European Parliamentary Research Service, in Brussels. I authored 40 publications, drafted policy advices for MEPs, developed performance indicators on EU policies, and contributed to design 15 conferences and capacity-building seminars, across all Europe. In 2021 I joined the cabinet of the Italian Minister of Digital Transition as Policy Advisor.
I have a solid background in speechwriting in politics and institutions. I am capable of accountable, clear, and timely written reports for varied audiences (public sector, NGOs, businesses). I am knowledgeable of research-surveys and indicators, as well as other social science research methods. I published extensively, in Italian and English, on digital governance, participatory democracy, globalization and public sector's innovation.
I am currently affiliated to the Centro de Estudos Sociais of the University of Coimbra, to the Centre for Digitalization, Democracy and Innovation of the Brussels School of Governance, and to the Business School of Gruppo Sole24Ore. There I teach on global policy; organize policy labs for executives willing to learn digital governance; and run policy-negotiation seminars. At SciencesPo I teach 'Digital Democracy'.
I am capable of engaging meaningfully with stakeholders (civil servants, political consultants, entrepreneurs, civil society advocates) in different contexts (workshops, conferences, public events, policy fora). From 2011-2013 I headed the Stakeholders' Engagement Unit of Prime Minister Office in Italy. I coordinated a team of 20 civil servants to develop the digital entry point for citizens interested in participating in the public consultations accompanying new policy proposals.
I am experienced with network-building. As Department Director at I-COM – a think-tank based in Rome and Brussels - I am engaged in nurturing networks of practitioners and policy-makers with converging interests across multi-disciplinary projects
