Environmental engineer, data analyst in sustainable energy and energy efficiency
I hold a Master in Environmental Engineering and a European PhD in Engineering and information technology. I worked as a researcher in the energy sector from 2007 to 2014 for different European institutes, namely the University of Lleida, the International centre for numerical methods in engineering (CIMNE), the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and the Denmark Technical University. My activities were mainly focused on energy efficiency and data analysis.
During my career at the EC Joint Research Centre from 2014 to 2020, I have been working for the Sustainable Transport Unit on the technical assessment of applications for eco-innovations under Regulation 443/2009. In this capacity, I chaired several technical taskforces, in particular that of the definition of a common methodology for the assessment of interaction between eco-innovations. I was also involved in the drafting process of the Technical Guidelines for the preparation of applications for the approval of innovative technologies. I took part in 3 eco-innovation sub-group meetings under the EC expert group on CO2 emissions from road vehicles and I presented the JRC research findings on eco-innovations in several workshops and conferences. I am co-author of different research papers published in journals and conferences and JRC technical reports.
Since March 2021, I work as a self-employed consultant for companies including Piksel s.r.l and Enerplan s.p.a. I mainly offer technical and scientific support as a data analyst in the sustainable energy and energy efficiency fields.
