The European Space Agency (ESA) has undertaken the Climate Change Initiative (CCI) Programme in order to respond to the growing need for timely and authoritative climate data. The objective of the CCI is to tap into the full potential of the long-term global Earth Observation archives, contributing to build the Essential Climate Variable (ECV) databases required by UNFCC.
