The Council Recommendation on the guiding principles for knowledge valorisation calls for cooperation between all actors in the R&I ecosystem to maximise the creation of societal value from all knowledge assets generated by R&I. The guiding principles are to be supported by Codes of practice, which provide more detailed guidance on the implementation of certain areas of knowledge valorisation for actors in the R&I ecosystem.

The European Commission is inviting stakeholders to join a new Community of practice in citizen engagement for knowledge valorisation to bring their inputs to the co-creation of a new Code of practice. The Community of practice will run from March until the end of June 2023. It will be coordinated by the European Commission and its work will take place entirely online with monthly meetings and using online collaborative tools. A detailed work plan will be shared at the kick-off meeting at the end of March. Participation in the Community of practice will not be remunerated and no costs will be reimbursed.
