Obesity is the condition of severe overweight where a person has a body mass index (BMI) equal to or greater than 30.
Pre-obesity is sometimes erroneously used interchangeably with overweight. Having overweight could mean either having pre-obesity or obesity. Having pre-obesity means having overweight but not obesity.
