Marginal land

Is land of poor quality with regard to agricultural use, and unsuitable for housing and other uses.

An area where cost-effective production is not possible under given unfavourable environmental side conditions. These areas are defined as rural areas where farming conditions are more difficult due to natural constraints, which raise production costs and limit agricultural opportunities.
