Blue biotechnology

Considers the non-traditionally commercially exploited groups of marine organisms and their biomass applications. is defined as the ‘application of science and technology to living organisms from marine resources, as well as parts, products and models thereof, to alter living or non-living materials for the production of knowledge, goods and services’. This sector encompasses a wide set of activities and applications, which can serve different markets and uses.
