Integrated numerical modelling frameworks can be useful for several purposes related to the MSFD, such as to determine baseline conditions from the past, estimate the future impact of pressures...
I am an expert in hydrodynamic and biogeochemical modelling, as well as chemical and plastic pollution modelling, supporting the assessment and implementation of policies related to the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD). I develop scenarios based on different management strategies, climate change projections and policy interventions. Ultimately, this work aims to provide policymakers with the scientific evidence needed to develop effective strategies for managing marine ecosystems in a sustainable manner.
