The European Commission Directorate-General for Defence Industry & Space (DG DEFIS) is in charge for EU policy on Defence Industry & Space and leads the Commission’s activities in these two sectors. In the area of Space, DG DEFIS oversees implementing the EU Space program consisting of the European Earth Observation Program (Copernicus), the European Global Navigation Satellite System (Galileo) and the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS).
