We advise and support EU policy making through ex-post causal evaluation and data-driven microeconomic analysis.
Network on Counterfactual Impact Evaluation
The Network on Counterfactual Impact Evaluation (NetCIEx) promotes collaborations of the Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation (CC-ME) of the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) with universities and other research institutions with interest in CIE. The purpose of the network is to promote causal policy evaluation in Europe.
Activities include:
Possible research visits at CC-ME, including for Master students (atypical trainees) or PhD students (Unpaid Visiting Scientists);
Possible common research projects: joint work on some evaluation of policy interventions, possibly involving visits;
Participation to the NetCIEx annual meeting.
The workshops aim to assemble practitioners and academics to explore the latest developments in the theory and applications of counterfactual impact evaluation (CIE) methods.

The network remains open to further collaborations with institutions involved in policy evaluation and causal inference research.
The objective of the annual meeting is to share information on research projects using Counterfactual Impact Evaluation (CIE) within the network. This is also an opportunity to discuss specific aspects of the empirical studies or to collect feedback on ongoing projects.
