Description of the event
The NetCIEx workshop 2025, organized by the European Commission's Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation (CC-ME), will take place at the Joint Research Centre, Ispra.
As part of the CIE Summer week 2025 event, the workshop on June 19-20, 2025, will bring together practitioners and academics to discuss recent advances in Counterfactual Impact Evaluation (CIE) methods.
Selected papers will be presented and discussed, offering an opportunity for researchers to receive feedback and engage in critical reflections on both methodological developments and empirical applications.
The event aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among experts in the field, strengthening the application of causal policy evaluation in research and practice.

Conference Fees: The event is free of charge (no registration fees), but participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation.
Transport and Hotel Information
A bus service will operate from specific locations (Milano Malpensa Airport, Sesto Calende Train Station), at designated times. If you are coming from abroad or a distant region, please submit your travel details by updating your information through the workshop registration link by the end of May. We will do our best to arrange additional pick-up services from Malpensa Airport. The bus timetable is available below on this webpage.
Hotel
All participants are responsible for booking their own hotel accommodation. A number of rooms have been pre-booked in Angera (VA) at the hotels listed below. Participants can contact the hotels directly by e-mail, mentioning that they are attending the CIE Summer Week at the JRC.
Transport from Hotel to Campus
Our bus service will be available from Angera (VA) town to the JRC campus, ensuring easy access to the Workshop venue (see bus timetable below). Please note that transport to and from the campus will be available only from Angera (VA).
