Graduations in ISCED 3 to 6 by field of education and sex

  • Dataset | 15 Sep 2015

Data on tertiary graduates (ISCED 5-6) by sex, education level (according to classification ISCED 1997) and training field (e.g. agriculture, forestry and fisheries, veterinary, environmental protection, etc.). Data expressed in number of graduations.

The aim of the education statistics domain is to provide comparable statistics and indicators on key aspects of the education systems across Europe. The data cover participation and completion of education programmes by pupils and students, personnel in education and the cost and type of resources dedicated to education.

The standards on international statistics on education and training systems are set by the three international organisations jointly administering the UOE data collection: the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation Institute for Statistics (UNESCO-UIS), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and, the Statistical Office of the European Union (EUROSTAT). The main source of data is the joint UIS/OECD/Eurostat (UOE) questionnaires on education statistics, which constitute the core database on education.

The UOE data collection on education statistics is based on the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED). The full description of ISCED 97 is available in http://www.uis.unesco.org/ev_en.php?ID=3813_201&ID2=DO_TOPIC.
