In this 1-hour online workshop, over 120 participants from EU institutions learned how they can make use of the data and visuals included in the Composite Indicators & Scoreboards Explorer to support their daily work when it comes to preparing policy briefs or speaking points.

How do we get to a more sustainable future if we don’t know where we are? This is where data can help us in taking the pulse of our societies. In this event at COP27, we engaged in a conversation about the power of data storytelling and listened to different experiences.

In this participatory workshop, a group of 10 practitioners experimented and explored the data and charts of the Composite Indicators & Scoreboards Explorer tool with the objective of creating new data-driven articles – “data stories”.

On November 1, in the framework of the EU side-events at COP26, the JRC unveiled a new online platform gathering hundreds of composite indicators and scoreboards just a click away – the Composite Indicators & Scoreboards Explorer.

This event was held during the UN Climate Change Conference COP25 on December 7, with the objective to shed light on the role of indices and data in supporting policy making and monitoring progress in the fields of sustainable development and climate action.
