There are many instruments measuring the EU’s most pressing issues, such as the Social Scoreboard for the European Pillar of Social Rights or the Digital Economy & Society Index. In fact, there is no shortage of measures of progress, but information rests dispersed across different publications and websites, making it challenging to locate and effectively use the data.
This is why scientists at the Joint Research Centre have created an interactive tool to explore data from over 150 indices and scoreboards. By combining these measures into one single platform, the Composite Indicators and Scoreboards Explorer provides a sense of the big picture and a journey into the world of data in a visual and interactive way.
The session provided the participants with an overview of the Explorer Tool and how to use it to:
- Compile relevant information and visualisations on a specific country;
- Provide quick but holistic analyses on a specific policy area;
- Explore the interlinkages between different indicator frameworks.
