IPC projections can be considered as the most valuable outputs of IPC acute food insecurity analyses: they are regularly used for fundraising, awarenessraising, and planning of assistance to food insecure populations in countries conducting IPC analyses. Yet the amount of guidance available for conducting good-quality IPC projections has so far been limited to rather succinct guidance included in the IPC Manual 3.0, and to IPC Acute Food Insecurity Level 1 and Level 2 training materials.
