Tom David joined the Digital Program of Institut Montaigne in February 2023 and currently serves as a Policy Officer in charge of Technological Foresight. In this capacity, he focuses on issues related to artificial intelligence, aiming to delineate the risks and opportunities it presents for our contemporary societies.He also participates in the Standardization Committee Artificial Intelligence - JTC21 of CEN CENELEC, which aims to define the standards for the EU AI Act.
Previously, Tom worked within the Research and Strategy Department of the Research Center of the National Gendarmerie Officers School (CREOGN). He also provided assistance to the Chief of Staff of the Prefect of Yonne in the implementation of security policies and crisis management.
In conjunction with his studies, Tom played a pivotal role in founding the EffiSciences association, which addresses pressing 21st-century challenges through research to promote the common good. The association currently encompasses three thematic areas: AI safety, bio-risks, and climate change.
Tom David is a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS) in social sciences.
