Deliberative and Participatory Democracy expert, coordination and management of large EC projects
I am highly experienced professional with expertise in design and implementation of deliberative participatory democracy processes. I bring a unique combination of creativity, strategic thinking and technical skills to the table. My areas of focus include the development of innovative tools, methods and trainings to support the implementation of participatory democracy.
In addition, as coordinator of the project Participative Democracy I have developed a toolbox for locally conducted people’s assemblies and have implemented it globally through 4 online assemblies, with 21 countries participating in the latest one. The toolbox has been successful in fostering a participatory culture and building real grassroots democracy in communities as well as straightening the liaison with local and national public administration, as demonstrated in Kenya, as it takes into account the cultural and societal realities of global south countries, Europe and the US. The Participative Democracy project got second place at the World Forum for democracy (2021) organized by the Council of Europe.
With a particular interest in digital democracy, I implement and test artificial intelligence and other digital tools in participatory designs. My work also includes providing trainings and advocacy on how to implement a national citizen’s assembly on the climate across Europe and beyond. My trainings cover various aspects of participatory processes including citizens and peoples assemblies, sortition, implementation, and comparative participatory processes. I have also evaluated participatory initiatives across Europe and I am a member of the Democracy R&D network.
I develop social media strategies and content and create visual graphics related to participatory democracy. I provided interviews regarding the importance of a national citizens assembly on the climate for ARTE French TV, ZDF German TV.
I have a proven track record in the coordination and management of large European Commission projects, including proposal preparation for FP6 and FP7 as coordinator of 4 large projects and as project manager of many others with a long experience on proposal writing. I have also initiated a consortium for a multidisciplinary deliberative participatory democracy proposal, under Horizon Europe 2020, with more than 20 private and public organizations. I Submitted a project proposal to the Global Challenges Foundation for a worldwide deliberative participatory project on Global Governance and submitted another project on 2023 under the EC Horizon Europe, related to inclusion and equality on deliberative and participatory processes, and another one on inclusion of Ukranians migrants in Europe via a series of participatiry processes.
