Monitoring the Present to Design the Future

A decade of Composite Indicators and Scoreboards informing evidence-based policymaking

  • Event | 17 Nov 2026

We are delighted to invite you to celebrate this important milestone in a dedicated event to be held in Brussels on November 17th, 2026.

This event is open to anyone interested in developing and using multidimensional indicator frameworks to inform better policymaking. The event will be live streamed to accommodate those unable to attend in person.

About

The JRC's Competence Centre on Composite Indicators and Scoreboards supports policy making within the EU Institutions and beyond by providing methodological expertise, training, toolkits, and tailored support to developers of indicator frameworks that aim to translate complex policy challenges into actionable and measurable policy insights.

It is renowned for its expertise on statistical methodologies and technical guidelines on the development of robust indicator frameworks that summarise complex and multidimensional concepts, such as development and innovation, sustainability, inequality, or fairness. CC-COIN has a long history of collaboration and supporting policy Directorate-Generals (DGs), Agencies, and other organisations.

This year, CC-COIN celebrates 10 years of continuous policy support and institutional impact formed through long-lasting partnerships with the EU Institutions, intergovernmental and international organisations, NGOs, and many more.

Officially launched in 2016, CC-COIN has provided, among other things, multifaceted support to policy DGs, multiple major training events, a battery of tools to support the development of indicator frameworks, and assessments of more than 100 well-known composite indicators and scoreboards.

We are happy to invite you to celebrate together this important milestone for CC-COIN, diving together into 10 years of fruitful institutional impact, partnership achievements and joint products, and establishing the foundation for future collaborations and strategic directions. Through a series of guest presentations and inspiring conversations, we will look at how CC-COIN has helped to pave the highways for better policymaking and how it can support the policymakers of today and tomorrow to reach evidence-based decisions though indicator frameworks.
