This synoptic profile is a brief portrait of the socio-demographic, economic and industrial context of the region in relation to the agrifood sector and the food and nutritional security of its local populations during the period 2018–2022. It aims at providing a global picture of the regional situation in relation to the target of 10 percent of the national budget to be devoted to the agricultural sector as agreed in the MALABO Declaration. This profile is built around 20 indicators that can be used to estimate the region's propensity to produce enough to meet the feeding needs of its inhabitants. It also presents the projections of public resources planned in the National Agricultural Investment Plan.
