State Enterprise RAdioactive Waste, was established on January 1, 2004 by a decision of the Bulgarian Government on the basis of the Safe Use of Nuclear Energy Act. Thus, a national operator has been designated for the management of radioactive waste outside the sites in which it is generated, in accordance with the National Strategy for SNF and RAW Management and with good international practices.
