Analysing the contribution of private R&D and our technological capabilities to EU competitiveness.
The characteristics of the Economic complexity framework make it potentially especially powerful in addressing the challenges of Europe’s Green Deal. The ability to localise capabilities and activities, considering their network layers, and identification of promising new technological combinations and disruptive innovation may help in identifying the most promising areas for the green transformation. An holistic analysis of EU27 regions in this respect is expected by the end of 2021.
