JRC Scientist, Michaela Saisana PhD Eng. Senior Scientific Officer and Project Leader of the Composite Indicators (COIN) team, gives a presentation on "Validating Environment and Gender Index" at the Gender Summit EU 2014. 

Starting with 2011, the Gender Summits provide a forum for interdisciplinary debates on issues of innovation and scientific excellence, including gender issues.

In 2013, the Summit was extended to include also transatlantic institutions  such as the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC - CRSNG), Mexico’s Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT), the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).

Participants at the 2014 edition, that takes place from the 30 June to the 01 July 2014 in Brussels, include Vladimir Sucha, Director General of the JRC, Wolfgang Burtscher, Deputy Director General of DG Research and Innovation of the European Commission, as well as researches and representatives from other organizations.
