A new technical report by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission on “Mapping interlinkages between EU-funded research projects and EU policy priorities - Application of the TIM open access tool to case studies in the context of the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030” has been published in July 2022.
This report is the result of an initiative of the EC Knowledge Centre for Biodiversity (KCBD) in support of the EC Directorate General for Research and Innovation. It aims to explore EU-funded research projects during FP7 and Horizon 2020 Framework Programmes (available from the EC CORDIS database). It maps their linkages with the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 (and each of its four pillars) as well as with the cross-sectoral topic of Biodiversity and Health. The analysis was conducted with the JRC "Tools for Innovation Monitoring" (TIM) Open Access software.
The executive summary and the full report are made available for download from here, where the results of this study can also be explored through an interactive TIM dashboard. The dashboard provides access to the following datasets:
Research projects on Biodiversity Strategy (BDS) 2030
Research projects on BDS 2030 Pillar 1 - Protect nature
Research projects on BDS 2030 Pillar 2 - Restore ecosystems
Research projects on BDS 2030 Pillar 3 - Transformative change
Research projects on BDS 2030 Pillar 4 - EU as a global leader
Research projects on Biodiversity and Health
For more details on how to navigate the datasets and interpret the results, please also refer to the TIM dashboard manual available for download from the same page.
