Bioeconomy Global Food and Nutrition Security

This report compiles the most important messages of the European Commission (EC) Conference titled "Research and Innovation for Food and Nutrition Security – Transforming our Food Systems", which was held at the Agricultural University of Plovdiv (Bulgaria) between the 14th and 15th of June, 2018. This 2nd FOOD 2030 HLE was organized under the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU. The event represented an important highlight of the EC's FOOD 2030 framework development. The Conference provided the context for a wide diversity of actors (stakeholders, NGOs and government) to... come together and build a shared and inclusive vision and to provide input for strategic long term R&I developments related to Food and Nutrition Security, at the EU level. The objectives of the Conference were to unravel the fundamental nature of our food and nutrition systems, and to assess the potential of building R&I ecosystems – in order to provide solutions to the food systems' transformation challenges
