Providing children with nutritious school meals can lift entire communities out of poverty and onto the road to sustainable development. This set of products outlines WFP’s school feeding programmes.
Providing children with nutritious meals at school is a critical component supporting both education and health. School meals have proven that they are both an investment in a prosperous future for children and their families, while at the same time providing a powerful platform for the development of entire communities. When integrated into comprehensive school health and nutrition approaches, these programmes can provide safety nets that fuel and sustain educational opportunities, social protection, sustainable food systems, gender empowerment and economic growth.
