BÖRMEMO 05 - Next to agriculture, forestry is the most important sector of the economy that provides raw materials for the bioeconomy. As the bioeconomy continues to expand, we must ask whe-ther wood as a raw material can be made usable for other purposes and whether it is possible to sustainably expand the quantity and quality of this raw material for current and future uses. It is necessary here to consider technological innovations, competitiveness aspects and conflicts of use with respect to other demands which are placed on forests.
