Brief me
The EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, as a core part of the European Green Deal, will:
- bring nature back into our lives
- support recovery in a post-pandemic world
- restore biodiversity for the benefit of people, nature, and climate
In May 2020, the European Commission has adopted the new EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 and an associated Action Plan. The Strategy contains specific commitments and actions to be delivered by 2030, organised around four main pillars:
- Protect nature
- Restore ecosystems
- Enable transformative change
- Ensure a high level of EU ambition and mobilise all efforts for the good of the world’s biodiversity.
