The 2017/18 Ghana Agriculture Census Report shows that women smallholder farmers contribute nearly 50% of the agricultural labor force in Ghana. Women are more engaged in crop farming than male farmers, and women play a crucial role in Ghana's agrifood systems. Ghana has achieved a perfect score of 10 in the 2021 CAADP for Performance Category 4.4 and has a score of 38.5 in the OECD's Social Institutions & Gender Index. However, women still face obstacles in equal opportunities and resources, such as land, technology, and finance. The unadjusted gender pay gap in Ghana is 37%, with women earning GH¢ 6.90 and men earning GH¢ 11.00.
