COP 27: How the European Commission identifies and tackles climate change disinformation

On Tuesday, November 15, 2022 11:00 - 12:00, the JRC will give a presentation on "How the European Commission identifies and tackles climate change disinformation" at the COP 27 European Union side events.

More information can be found below and under this link.

How does the European Commission detect, analyse, and tackle climate change disinformation? The session will (a) outline the types of disinformation narratives with examples on COP27 linking to publications by fact-checking organisations, (b) present experimental data on the costs and benefits of engaging in debunking and prebunking, and (c) highlight lessons learned from understanding disinformation and how meaningful and ethical communications can be a solution for long-term trust-building.
