The workshop on bio-based textiles gathered academics, practitioners and policymakers to discuss the latest research findings, market trends and policy needs. It allowed to collect valuable inputs and views on several aspects related to the bio-based textiles sector: available feedstocks, process, current and future market trends, environmental impacts, trade offs, knowledge gaps and policy needs. These inputs will inform a knowledge for policy brief on bio-based textiles by the Knowledge Centre for Bioeconomy (KCB). 

A stakeholder survey further extended the possibility to provide inputs to experts who did not attend the workshop in person. They contributd to create a complete and evidence-based representation of the bio-based textile sector and its potential development in Europe.
