In the context of the forthcoming Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027, the EU international cooperation will support partner countries in the implementation of mitigation actions in line with the Paris Agreement’s objective to limit global temperature rise. As adverse climate impacts are already occurring and expected to increase, EU cooperation will also support actions towards adaptation and disaster risk reduction, in line with the Paris Agreement and the Sendai Framework, with a view to limiting adverse consequences of climate change, especially on the world’s poorest and most vulnerable citizens. This Guidance Note details the EU cooperation approach.
