The invasion of Ukraine risks having serious consequences for global food security, negatively impacting on vulnerable countries and population groups. The EC has been developing R&I activities on several key issues raised in the Communication Safeguarding food security and supporting EU farmers and consumers under its funding programmes. This factsheet illustrates concrete examples how R&I can help develop and test solutions, overcome barriers and uncover new market opportunities.
