The Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) Program has collected, analyzed, and disseminated accurate and representative data on population, health, HIV, and nutrition through more than 400 surveys in over 90 countries. Their Service Provision Assessment (SPA) is a health facility survey that collects information on service availability and Quality of Care (QoC) measures within a country’s health system. The SPA was redesigned in 2022 to make it indicator-driven and refocused on Quality of Care. SPAs fill an urgent need for actionable monitoring data, including for nutrition services.
