Agroecology

Agroecology can enhance ecological and socio-economic resilience of agricultural and food systems.

Brief me

Agroecology ensures a regenerative use of natural resources and ecosystem services by applying ecological principles to agriculture, and addresses the need for socially equitable food systems.

Agroecology is increasingly promoted in the transition towards more sustainable, circular and resilient food systems.

The adoption of agroecological practices at farm level contributes to increase smallholder farmers’ incomes, food security and their resilience to climate change.

We aim at building a knowledge-base of good practices, showing where and under which conditions the transition to agroecology is providing environmental, social and economic benefits to farmers and communities.
