Working at the science-policy interface requires a distinct set of competences that are rarely covered by the formal university education that researchers follow. In my professional career, I have been focusing on filling this gap,i.e. by 1) identifying the complementary 'Science4Policy' competences required for researchers working at the science-policy interface; and 2) designing and delivering training and other capacity building activities for researchers aiming to increase the impact of the their research on (EU) policies.
