The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) is hosting a workshop focused on progress across Non-indigenous species (NIS) criteria.
The workshop will cover various topics, including matters arising from the JRC's work in support of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) implementation, with a focus on monitoring, NIS measures, and targets, as well as the assessment of NIS with adverse effects on species groups and habitat types for marine biodiversity protection.
The event is scheduled to take place at Casa Don Guanella Barza (Ispra, Italy) from 10-12 February 2026 and will include the participation of nationally appointed MSFD experts from most Member States and representatives of the marine Regional Sea Conventions.
