  • The Mental Health Gap Action Programme (mhGAP) is an information package for prioritised mental, neurological and substance use disorders, including dementia. It’s composed of interventions for prevention and management for each condition.
  • iSupport for dementia by the WHO is a free access online knowledge and skills training programme. The programme aims at helping caregivers of people living with dementia provide good care and take care of themselves by providing the resources. The four main topics are knowledge of the impact of dementia and how to deal with associated challenging behaviours, help to provide good care and advice for selfcare as a care taker.
  • The Global Dementia Observatory (GDO) is a 'data and knowledge exchange platform that offers easy access to key dementia data from Member States across the following three domains: policies, service delivery, and information and research.'
  • mDementia and mDementiaPrevetion uses mHealth (mobile devices such as mobile phones) in order to complement existing health and social care and 'provide complementary information to generate behaviour change that helps reduce the risk of cognitive decline and dementia.'
European Commission
  • Act on Dementia is the 2nd Joint Action on dementia by the European Commission, launched under the EU-Health Programme. The aim is to provide practical guidance for policy makers developing and implementing their national dementia plans, policies and strategies. Its main foci are diagnostic and post-diagnostic support, crisis and care coordination.

  • The surveillance of dementia includes a continuous collection, analysis and exchange of data to inform public actions. Federal, provincial and territorial governments share the responsibility of dementia surveillance.
