Scope and description
How does global population growth, the ageing of the European population and other demographic trends affect the economy, employment, education, resource availability, consumption patterns, emissions and climate change?
In a discussion with demography experts, Commission Vice-President for Democracy and Demography Dubravka Šuica will underline the need to meaningfully embed the demographic angle in policy design, in order for EU policies to be robust and future-proof.
New Science for Policy report
The discussion centres around a new Science for Policy report 'Demography and climate change - EU in the global context', by the Joint Research Centre (JRC). The report explores the connections between demography and climate change, and the need to integrate demographic insights into policymaking.
