The G5 Benchmark assesses the level of maturity of national policy, regulatory reform and collaborative governance to enable digital transformation across economies and societies. The G5 Benchmark features a total of 70 indicators focused on policy and regulatory frameworks that will best enable the digital transformation. According to their score, each of 193 countries is associated with one of four levels of maturity – these are Leading, Advanced, Transitioning, and Limited.

Since its inception in 2021, the G5 Benchmark has proven to be a practical navigator for national digital regulators and policy makers, helping them establish digital transformation roadmaps and accelerate the coming of age of digital economies. The G5 Benchmark maintains its signature practicality and simplicity, offering regulators a powerful, straightforward readout on where the country is on the collaborative digital regulation pathway and what is needed to enable the achievement of social and economic goals. The tools allows tracking progress made over time and benchmarking national practices against regional and global trends.
