Luke promotes bioeconomy and sustainable use of natural resources. Researchers and specialists working in Luke provide new solutions towards the sustainable development of the Finnish bioeconomy and the promotion of new biobased businesses. Luke institute aims to achieve new biobased products and business opportunities, productivity by digitalization, healthier food profitability, regional vitality by circular economy and welfare from immaterial values. The four research areas of the institute are Boreal green bioeconomy, blue bioeconomy, innovative food system, and BioSociety.
