
The European Network of Cancer Registries (ENCR)
The European Network of Cancer Registries (ENCR) currently includes 178 population-based cancer registries in Europe and is active since 1990 and was established within the framework of the "Europe Against Cancer " programme of the European Commission.
The aims of the ENCR are to:
- promote collaboration between European cancer registries
- promote quality, comparability and availability of cancer data
- provide the data that forms the basis for the computation of cancer incidence and mortality in the European Union and Europe
- promote the use of cancer registries
