THESEUS

Developing, implementing and applying innovative statistical methods so the European Anti-fraud Office (OLAF) and its partners across Europe can protect the EU's financial interests.

The results shared in THESEUS come from years of work focused on using data to prevent fraud. This involves finding patterns in trade data to spot suspicious activity. The project develops special tools, like WebARIADNE, which help experts regularly check data for any signs of fraud. WebARIADNE programs let users explore data easily through a web interface.

The findings are mainly shared in a secure part of the THESEUS website, with certain sections also available on the AFIS portal. A team from the Joint Research Centre and the European Anti-fraud Office decides which results are published. There are also workshops where these methods and results are discussed, and the presentation materials are available online in the Workshops section.
