We are excited to invite you to the final conference of the ‘Building Capacity for Evidence-Informed Policymaking in Governance and Public Administration in a Post-Pandemic Europe’ project. The event will take place on 19 March 2025 in Brussels, and will bring together policymakers, scientists and knowledge brokers from across Europe.

Over the past two years, the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre and the OECD have worked with seven EU Member States – Greece, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and the Netherlands – to support reforms towards a greater uptake of evidence-informed policymaking (EIPM) practices. Notably, through in-depth analyses of the political and scientific landscapes, the Technical Support Instrument (TSI) project has produced tailored country roadmaps offering recommendations to strengthen evidence-informed policymaking in governance and public administration across the participating Member States.

The final conference marks the end of the project and serves as an opportunity to review its achievements and key findings, but also to look ahead and chart the way forward for EIPM in Europe.

Panel 1

The event will feature:

  • The launch of the final project report summarising the main lessons of the project and formulating the future EIPM agenda;

  • High-level panels and plenary discussions on emerging topics such as coordinating the EIPM ecosystem, assessing the impact of EIPM, and the role of AI in evidence-informed policymaking;

  • Parallel sessions on key elements of EIPM, including the professionalisation of knowledge brokers and building trust with EIPM;

  • Networking and exchanges with policymakers, scientists, and knowledge brokers from across Europe.
