Research and Engagement Director

China's rise as a leading technological and geopolitical powerhouse necessitates re-imagining regulatory norms that shape international collaboration and global value chains.

As a legal and governance specialist, I bring over 10 years of expertise in translating regulatory complexities into actionable insights for public bodies and businesses. I work with national and regional policymakers and business leaders to navigate risks and opportunities in human rights due diligence, access to (e-)justice, and governance accountability across Europe and China.

This mission isn’t just my work—it’s my lifelong ambition. Key highlights include:

  • 11+ years in Human Rights, Governance Accountability and e-Justice.

  • (co-)Leading international projects across the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, China and Africa.

  • Audience-focused reporting, authoring a book and over 20 articles to vernacularise complex issues.

  • Founding Law4Sustainability, a research initiative for delivering actionable insights into accountable governance practices across cultural and regulatory contexts.

I am fortunate to have received training from prestigious academic institutions in China and Europe, including:

  • BKO (University Teaching Certificate), Free University of Amsterdam (2023)

  • PhD, Utrecht University (2018, International and European Law)

  • LLM, Peking University & Lund University (2013, International Human Rights Law)

  • MA, BA, LLB, Peking University (2007–2013, Communication Studies, Media & Journalism, International Relations)
